What is Battle of the Books After Hours?
Battle of the Books After Hours is an adults only reading competition. Teams of 3-5 will read 6 preselected books (see booklist below) and then join in a trivia competition at 1623 Brewing and Flood Zone Brewery. Check out books from the booklist below or purchase from A Likely Story Bookstore. The competition will have two rounds of 20 questions in multiple formats, fill in the blank, true or false, or multiple choice. Doors open at 5:30 PM to practice and purchase food and beverages from a food truck and 1623 Brewing Company or Flood Zone Brewery. Teams will be sent full competition rules in advance.
If you are interested in participating but do not have a team, email greatreads@carr.org, as soon as possible.
- Teams of 3-5 can sign up. Please note we have limited ticket quantities for each size of team due to venue capacities.
- Cost is $25 per team.
- We will have three nights of trivia: Battle 1 - October 10, Battle 2 - October 17, or Battle 3 - October 24
- You will be contacted later for your team member names and team name if you enter Unknown.
- The team size you sign up for is the team size you are committing to. Expect that no additional team members will be able to be added.
- Registration is open until January 15 or until capacity is reached.
- Please note that the night of the event, you may be seated at the same table as another team. We will try our best to work with teams and seating arrangements so that there is spacing, but this may be necessary.
