Cuentos Bilingües/Bilingual Storytime

Are you interested in improving your language skills? Join us for Spanish Bilingual Storytime! There will be singing, dancing, activities, and stories in Spanish and English.

Music, Dance, and Me

This program utilizes fun dance activities that include props (e.g., hula hoops, bean bags, scarves, tunnels, parachutes, etc.) while working on motor skills, color recognition, and counting, as well as dancing.

World in Harmony Singing Workshop

Explore the world’s rich and diverse musical heritage, and experience the thrill of joining other voices to create a World in Harmony. Whether you have always loved to sing or always wished you could, come and add your voice. Songs are taught in the oral tradition, through call and response. If you want to have a joyous time singing, moving, laughing, and learning, come experience a World in Harmony with choral director Elizabeth Melvin. 

Zocko! in Concert

Join us in the library for this live music event! Zocko! is a lively Baltimore surf/garage band that will get your toes tapping. 

Alphabet Train

Climb aboard each week to explore a different letter of the alphabet through books, songs, and activities. All adult caregivers are welcome.

Veterans Book Club: The Wager

In partnership with the Carroll County Veterans Advisory Council, we invite veterans, current military and reservists, and family members to join us for an evening of discussion, fellowship, and camaraderie. This month's selection is The Wager: A Tale of Shipwreck, Mutiny and Murder by David Grann.

Join your little one at a storytime featuring interactive books, rhymes, music, and movement, followed by playgroup activities that allow children to practice skills and socialize.

Twos and Threes Together

This lively, fast-paced storytime for young children includes books, songs, fingerplays, and movement.

How to Chat with Chat Bots

Learn common features of AI chatbot interfaces, conversation management, and privacy configurations. Compare ChatGPT, Claude, and other popular platforms to understand their different strengths, pricing models, and use cases. Develop criteria for selecting the right AI tool and learn to design effective sessions that produce reliable, usable results.

This program is presented in partnership with the Carroll Technology and Innovation Council.

Pajama Party Storytime

Wear your pajamas, bring your favorite stuffed animal, and listen to stories before bed. This storytime introduces stories through books, songs, and activities appropriate for young children.

Family Storytime

We’ll share books, stories, rhymes, music, and movement. Come talk, sing, read, write, and play together in a format appropriate for young children. 

Ready, Set, School!

An independent storytime that prepares children for school. Fun, hands-on activities will teach listening, pre-reading, math, movement, music, and art skills.
