Get ready for Mardi Gras with Maryland State Arts Council Award winners Christopher James and Jon Seligman! Join us to learn more about African rhythms, Mardi Gras Indians, Rhythm & Blues, marches, parades, funerals and the influence of New Orleans music on Ska, Reggae and Rock & Roll. Chris and Jon will perform with guitar, drum set, hand percussion and voices to give
life to the history of New Orleans. Audience members will even learn and join in on some "second line" rhythms. Prepare to celebrate the incredibly diverse and exciting legacy of New Orleans music.This program is sponsored in part by a Community Arts Development Grant from the Carroll County Arts Council and the Maryland State Arts Council.
